About Synergy™

A small implantable blood pump the size of a AA battery, the Synergy Pocket Circulatory Assist Device represents a new approach to mechanical circulatory support that is transforming chronic heart failure management by enabling earlier, less-invasive treatment for more patients. Synergy is the first partial circulatory assist device designed for minimally invasive implantation and long-term use. The system supplements the heart’s natural function with just enough pumping capacity (up to3L/min) to unload the heart and potentially enable positive remodeling. Nine patients have been treated in clinical trials thus far with Synergy and are doing well. Four patients in the short-term first-in-man trial successfully reached the endpoint of the trial, which was transplantation, and five patients in the long-term CE Mark trial remain on device support and are expected to continue on support for greater than 6 months.

About CircuLite®

CircuLite is developing a micro blood pump, designed to be placed superficially like a pacemaker, for the long-term treatment of chronic heart failure. The Synergy™ Pocket Circulatory Assist Device is designed to rest a failing heart by supplementing its natural function. By providing long-term circulatory assist on a minimally invasive platform, CircuLite’s Synergy has the potential to transform the management of chronic heart failure and improve the quality of life for millions of patients and their families.
