A small implantable blood pump the size of a AA battery, the Synergy Pocket Circulatory Assist Device represents a new approach to mechanical circulatory support that is transforming chronic heart failure management by enabling earlier, less-invasive treatment for more patients. Synergy is the first partial circulatory assist device designed for minimally invasive implantation and long-term use. The system supplements the heart’s natural function with just enough pumping capacity (up to3L/min) to unload the heart and potentially enable positive remodeling.
