CircuLite™, Inc. today announced that Paul Southworth, President and Chief Executive Officer, will provide a corporate overview and clinical update on the Company’s Synergy™ Pocket Circulatory Assist Device program at the upcoming Piper Jaffray Health Care Conference at the Pierre Hotel in New York, NY. The presentation will be on Wednesday, November 28 at 1:50 PM EST in the Regency A room.
Synergy is a miniature implantable blood pump, the size of a AA battery, that can be implanted superficially. The device is designed to supplement a failing heart by providing long-term, partial circulatory support in patients with chronic heart failure. Since launching the clinical development program in June 2007, three short-term support patients have received the Synergy device. One patient has successfully been transplanted and two patients are currently supported by the Synergy device. Initial data from these three patients and a device overview were presented at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics conference in October 2007. CircuLite is preparing to begin enrollment of patients for the long-term use of the device.
